The Tour 15 days and 14 nights Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Puno, Arequipa and Iquitos offers travelers a fascinating experience that explores the cultural, historical and natural diversity of Peru. Starting in Lima, the country’s capital, visitors can enjoy a mix of colonial architecture, vibrant nightlife, and a rich food scene.

From Lima, the journey continues to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, where travelers can immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of the region. From there, explore the stunning landscapes of the Sacred Valley, with its Inca ruins, picturesque villages and traditional markets.

The highlight of the trip is the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the archaeological wonders of the world, located high in the Andes. Visitors can marvel at the majesty and mystery of this well-preserved Inca site.

After exploring the Cusco region, the tour continues to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Travelers can visit the floating islands of the Uros, home to an ancient culture that lives on artificial islands built of reeds.

From Lake Titicaca, the trip heads towards Puno, a picturesque city located on the shores of the lake. Then, continue to Arequipa, known as the “White City” for its Spanish colonial architecture and its impressive landscape dominated by the Misti volcano.

Finally, the tour concludes in Iquitos, the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon jungle. Here, travelers can explore the lush biodiversity of the jungle, take boat tours on the Amazon River, and immerse themselves in the region’s indigenous culture.

Itinerario

FIRST DAY: WELCOME AT THE LIMA AIRPORT, CITY TOUR IN LIMA

We will start our tour through the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will visit the financial center, the Golf, El Olivar, the Huaca Pucllana (pre-Inca ceremonial temple in the shape of a pyramid) and the Parque del Amor on the Malecón de Miraflores. Continuing with our tour, we will go to the Historic Center of Lima, we will visit the Plaza San Martín, balconies and old houses, as well as the Plaza Mayor with its most important buildings, to finally enter one of the most important convents of the 17th century. A complete tour, with the comfort and attention of a modern tourist service.

SECOND DAY: CITY TOUR IN AREQUIPA

After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the Lima airport, there we will check-in to take the flight to the “White City of Arequipa”, lasting approximately one hour. Arriving, our staff will welcome you and transfer you to the selected hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be able to taste the famous coca tea (Plant that has properties that will help your body against altitude sickness). Here you can rest and acclimatize a bit in the hotel or if you want to go out, you could choose to take a gentle walk through the main streets of the city. By averaging 1:00 p.m. our staff will pick you up at your hotel to start the tour of the “White City” including the Santa Catalina Convent, without a doubt, the gem of Arequipa, finally opened to the public in 1970, after 400 years in seclusion with an innumerable quantity of pieces of colonial art. Likewise, you will visit the Plaza de Armas, the cloisters of the Company of Jesus and the neighborhoods of Cayma and Yanahuara, with a magnificent view of the Misti volcano, you will be able to visit a traditional colonial mansion called the Mansion of the Founder. Then at night, we will take you to taste a delicious dinner show, where you can taste Peruvian food. We will finish taking you to spend the night in the selected hotel

THIRD DAY: COURSE TO THE COLCA CANYON AND VICUÑAS RESERVE

In the morning after breakfast, we will depart by private bus, heading to the Colca Canyon. We will pass through the feet of the Chachani volcano, on the way, we will cross the Pampas de Cañahuas and Arrieros, where the Vicuñas, Vizcachani, La Pulpera, Callalli, Sibayo and Tuti Villages National Reserve are located. We will reach an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level, where you will appreciate the flora and fauna of the beautiful natural lagoons of Bofedales and Mar Atrapado, along with giant rocks in the shape of castles. After this magnificent excursion we will finally arrive at Chivay in the Colca Valley, where we will stay.

FOURTH DAY: COLCA CANYON AND VIEW OF THE CONDORS

Very early in the morning, after breakfast, we will leave for “La Cruz del Cóndor”, the place where the Colca Canyon begins, where you will be able to appreciate the immense depth of this beautiful landscape. Here we will have the opportunity to see condors in their natural habitat. After a brief stop at “La Cruz del Cóndor”, we will continue our trip to the city of Puno. We will arrive at approximately 6:30 p.m., where our staff will wait for you to transfer you to your hotel in Puno.

FIFTH DAY: TOUR TO LAKE TITICACA, UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS

In the port of Puno (Lake Titicaca), we will go by boat to visit the Floating Islands of the Uros, for a space of 45 minutes, we will appreciate the customs of this island and its crafts. Continuing with the boat tour, we will visit Taquile Island, possessing great scenic, ethnic, cultural and archaeological value. We will return to the port of Puno and they will be taken to the hotel or if they wish, they can stay in the center of Puno, finally the night will be spent at the selected hotel.

SIXTH DAY: TOURIST TRIP FROM PUNO TO CUSCO VISITING RAQCHI

Having a good breakfast, we will leave the hotel and go to the bus station that will take us on a journey that lasts approximately 8 hours. We will have 4 excursions and guided visits to the main tourist attractions of the South Corridor of the Altiplano. We will visit the Inca Aimara de Pucará museum, reaching the highest point of the entire tour, known as Paso de La Raya, located at 4335 masl. Finally, near the city of Cusco, we will visit the Temple of Andahuaylillas, also known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Upon arrival, our staff will welcome you and drive you to your hotel

SEVENTH DAY: CITY TOUR IN CUSCO

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the morning free to walk around and shop for handicrafts and souvenirs from Cusco on your own. After your lunch from 1:00 p.m. we will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour to the city of Cusco and its surroundings, this excursion includes a visit to: the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Temple of Koricancha and the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puka Pukará, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress. At 7:00 p.m

EIGHTH DAY: FREE DAY IN MACHU PICCHU THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS

We will pick you up at the hotel of your choice in the city of Cusco, 1 hour before the departure of your train to go to the train station, located in the town of Poroy. Once in the train of the company “PERURAIL”, we will begin the trip from Poroy – Cusco to the town of Aguas Calientes (2000 masl), with a duration of 4 hours. Upon reaching the town of Aguas Calientes, we will go to the designated hotel. At night the guide will arrive at your hotel and provide the necessary information for the day of your tour. One option is to visit the hot springs or buy local crafts

NINTH DAY: VIEW OF THE SUNRISE OF MACHU PICCHU AND THE HUAYNA PICCHU

Early in the morning after breakfast, we will go up to the Inca citadel of Machupicchu. Our guide will give us an excursion through the citadel of Machu Picchu, for approximately 2 hours. We will visit the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. Ideal moment to relax, take photos and appreciate this mystical place. Optional: You can choose to trek to the summit of Huaynapicchu, this will take a few hours between the round trip (this visit is without a guide). We will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon, where our staff will be waiting for you, to transport you by bus to the city of Cusco.

TENTH DAY: TOUR TO THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

We pick you up at 08:00 a.m., the tour will begin with a stop at the Corao natural viewpoint, where the guide will give you an introduction to the Sacred Valley. Continuing the tour, enjoying a beautiful landscape. The first place to visit will be the traditional Indian Market of Pisaq, where you can do some shopping for souvenirs or handicrafts. They will ascend to the Pisaq Archaeological Center, where after a short walk they will reach the main Inca sites. Continuing with the trip, they will go to the city of Urubamba where, in an exclusive restaurant, they will be able to taste the local gastronomy. In the afternoon we will visit the fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Sacred Valley and thus protect it from possible invasions, especially by the inhabitants of the jungle. At present, Ollantaytambo is considered the “Living Inca Town” for the conservation of the customs and urban style that still maintain its streets. On the way back to Cusco, we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, where the remains of the Royal Treasury of Túpac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will also admire its well-preserved architecture such as its Inca walls in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the portico

ELEVENTH DAY: TRIP FROM CUSCO TO IQUITOS - WELCOME TO HELICONIA AMAZON RIVER LODGE AND VISIT TO THE YANAMONO RESERVE

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Cusco airport, to board the return flight to the city of Iquitos (The flight lasts approximately 140 minutes). You will be received and welcomed in the baggage area of the Iquitos International Airport, where representatives of the lodge will assist you and transfer you to our office in Iquitos. After a short wait, you will be transferred to the Port of Iquitos, where you will be embarked on one of our boats, which will take you to the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge through the Amazon River. We will continue our tour for approximately 60 minutes by boat, upon arrival at the lodge, our staff will welcome you and receive you with a refreshing fruit juice from the region. Then, you will proceed with the Check-in and location in your respective room, so that you can freshen up and immediately after go to the restaurant of the lodge and thus enjoy your first Amazonian meal. In the afternoon, you will start your first excursion accompanied by our experienced guides, walking through the Yanamono reserve for approximately 2 hours. There they will teach you to identify various species of flora such as; Heliconia flowers, medicinal plants and giant trees. We will depart back to the lodge to enjoy a few hours of rest and relaxation, being captivated by your first sunset in the Amazon. At nightfall, we will enjoy a magical tour in an open boat through one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, without any lighting, accompanied only by a few glimpses of the flora and fauna of the jungle. Back at the lodge, a delicious dinner will await us, to then rest and recover energy since, the next morning, we will start activities from dawn.

DAY TWELFTH: EXPEDITION TO THE YANAMONO RESERVE

We start the day with the bird watching excursion, appreciating how the various birds gather in search of their morning food, we will transfer by boat to one of the ravines, where you will be able to appreciate the greatest variety of birds. After returning to the lodge for an energizing breakfast and a short rest, we prepare to be part of the artisanal fishing expedition, for which we will move to one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, where we will learn about artisanal fishing techniques, as well as Like hunting piranhas. We will have the opportunity to appreciate the friendly pink river dolphins. We return to the lodge to enjoy the typical lunch of the region. In the afternoon, we will take a short boat ride to a lake on Yanamono Island, where we will be able to appreciate the majestic Victoria Regia, the queen of water lilies. Now known as Victoria Amazonica, this flower native to the shallow waters of the Amazon River basin, grows mostly in lakes and swamps. At night, dare to take a nature walk within the perimeters of the lodge and witness the enchanting transformation of the jungle to a nocturnal setting. We will be able to differentiate a completely different range of fauna compared to what is usually found during the day, listening to the magical sounds of birds, cats and owls. After 30 minutes of travel we will proceed to return to the lodge to enjoy dinner and rest pleasantly

THIRTEENTH DAY: DEPARTURE FROM IQUITOS – LIMA.

Enjoy an excellent breakfast before starting the visit to a rustic Amazon mill, a 10-minute boat ride will take us to a still located on the banks of the river. They will show us how the inhabitants of this area process the sugar cane extract, using horses and fermented cane juice in wooden barrels, which after a certain storage time becomes liquor. You will taste the variety of regional exotic drinks that are obtained from sugar cane liquor and its molasses; perhaps you can purchase a few bottles of this exquisite liquor to take home as a present. We will return to the lodge for our farewell lunch, proceed with the Check-out, and leave for Iquitos. Depending on the schedule of your return flight to Lima, you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight from Iquitos to the city of Lima, where our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in Lima to rest

FOURTEENTH DAY: VISIT TO THE MAGIC CIRCUIT OF THE WATERS AND FAREWELL DINNER SHOW

After having breakfast, you will have the morning free to do your personal activities, buy your souvenirs and in the afternoon we will visit the Magic Water Circuit, a set of 13 ornamental fountains that were built in the Reserve Park, cultural heritage of the nation. These fountains have set a Guinness Record for being “The largest fountain complex in the world in a public park.” After that we will have a delicious farewell dinner with a live show and spend the night at the selected hotel in the city of Lima.

FIFTEENTH DAY: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT AND FAREWELL

When you indicate the time of your return flight to your country the night before, according to that information, we will have to be there at least two hours before, in order to check-in with peace of mind and pay the airport tax of $36.00. finally after having accompanied him to carry out all his procedures, we will say goodbye.
