You must be at the Lima airport, at least two hours before the flight time to Cusco, you will have to go to the airline counter, where your air tickets will be checked and delivered, presenting your documents and thus leave for the city of Cusco “Archaeological Capital of America”, there our staff will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel of your choice. Upon arrival at the hotel, you can taste the famous coca tea, this plant has properties that will help your body against altitude sickness. Then you can rest at your hotel and acclimatize or if you want to go for a gentle walk through the main streets of the city. At around 1:00 p.m., we will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the city of Cusco and its surroundings. You will visit the center of the thousand-year-old city of Cusco, the Plaza de Armas, the Cusco Cathedral, the Santo Domingo Monastery, the Coricancha Temple and the nearby ruins of Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress, built with enormous rocks that up to now remain an enigma, especially due to the movement and use of these, since there are no stone quarries in the area. It will end at approximately 7:00 p.m.
After having a good breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the Cusco Train Station to start the excursion to Machupicchu, the Lost City of the Incas. We will have a 4-hour trip until we reach the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, from there we will take a bus, in half an hour we will arrive at the citadel of Machupicchu. With our guide we will tour the Inca city between 2 to 3 hours. Then we will have time to go down to Aguas Calientes and have lunch, in the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco. We pick you up between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. The tour will begin with a stop at the Corao natural viewpoint, where the guide will give you an introduction to the Sacred Valley. We will continue the tour enjoying a beautiful landscape, the first place to visit will be the traditional Indian market of Pisaq, here you can do some shopping for souvenirs or handicrafts. Then we will go up to the archaeological center of Pisaq, where after a short walk you will reach the main Inca sites. Continuing with the trip they will go to the city of Urubamba where in an exclusive restaurant you will be able to taste the local gastronomy. In the afternoon we will visit the fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo, which is said to have been built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the inhabitants of the jungle. Currently, Ollantaytambo is considered the living Inca town by the conservation of customs and urban style still have their streets. On the way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will also admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the portico.
The tour will start at 06:00 a.m., we will go to the bus terminal and check-in so we can board the bus that will leave at 07:00 a.m. We will go to the southern part of the city, which will allow us to visualize the outskirts of Cusco. The first place to visit will be the Temple of Andahuaylillas known worldwide as the “Sistine Chapel of America”. For lunch, we will stop in the city of Sicuani where you will taste a typical buffet lunch. As we continue we will visit the Inca Temple of Raqchi, the La Raya pass at 4335 masl and the Aimara de Pucará Inca museum. Upon arrival in the city of Puno, our agency staff will wait for you to drive you to the hotel where you will spend the night.
We will take you to the port of Puno (Lake Titicaca), where you will embark on a boat, it will take you to visit the floating islands of the Uros for a space of 45 minutes, you will appreciate the customs of this island and its crafts. Continuing with the boat tour, you will visit Taquile Island, of great scenic, ethnic, cultural and archaeological value. Then, we will return to the port of Puno, there you will be picked up and taken to the hotel or if you wish you can stay in the center of Puno, finally the night will be spent at the selected hotel.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will have some free hours to visit the center of the city of Puno. At the agreed time the night before, we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer to the Chullpas de Sillustani, pre-Inca burial towers. The tallest measures approximately 12 m. Then we will go to the Juliaca airport, one hour from Puno, there you will check in at the airport counter, we will give you your air tickets and then you will take the flight to Lima.
